Revised school service from September 2020 HG24

Following a review of number of pupils travelling from the Lawnswood area of Leeds, it is clear that the service does not cover its operating costs as it is.

Sadly, from September the HG24 service will not be serving leeds and is re-routed to start and finish in Thorner. we have seen high demand for travel from Thorner and therefore as the service recieves no financial support, it is nessecary to revise the route to ensurre that it remains profitable.

COVID-19 update.

As you will be aware we are still carrying #keyworker children to school. we appreciate it is a diffuicult time all round and appreciate the support of parents thus far.

We have been in discussions with our schools regarding bringing y10/12 pupils to school in june and whilst social distancing on a bus is virtually impossible to keep a 2m distance, we are working very hard to find a solution. rest assured that our vehicles have been thoroughly deep cleaned inside and out, and we consider them a safe place to be. We are looking at the possibility of insisting face masks are worn by pupils whilst onboard. No mask -No travel. There are hand sanitisers onboard to use.

No clear decision has been made but we will keep parents updated via our facebook page.

New school Year intake for Year 7 in September 2018

March 1st when parents find out which secondary school their son/daughter has got a place in. if you have been luckily enough to get a place at one of the schools that we run in to , TADCASTER GRAMMAR, ST AIDANS C OF E SCHOOL AND ST JOHN FISHER CATHOLIC HIGH SCHOOL IN HARROGATE. and you would like to have a place on our school buses in September, please visit our school services page www.a-atravel.co.uk/schoolservices and fill in our expressions of interest section.

Please be aware that our services are in high demand and often full to capacity.

We offer free travel on the inset days in July to see if your child is happy on the bus.

We would recommend expressing your interest sooner than later.

A&A Step in to operate Route 7H following the collapse of Stephensons of Easingwold

Following the collapse of Stephensons of Easingwold, A&A worked closely with the Headteachers of St Aidans and St John Fisher over last weekend to ensure that the commercial service linking the schools to Boroughbridge, Great Ouseburn, Green Hammerton and surrounding villages, avoiding any disruption and pupils being left with out a service. We have had several parents call and say thanks for helping out

A&A operate 6 school routes that are not subsidised in to the schools. We have a great working relationship with both schools and stepping in on the 7H only makes this relationship greater. Any information on the route, please contact our office 01423 325300 or email schools@a-a-travel.co.uk
